Editing & Graphic Design NGO Job MWAK

Millennium Water Alliance Kenya (MWAK) is seeking the services of a Graphic Designer to support the program team in (re)producing high-quality, visually compelling design Investment Opportunity Profiles and Investment Diagnostic Reports to enhance their visual communication, readability, engagement, and overall branding. This includes defining requirements, and visualizing and creating graphics like illustrations, layouts and photos.

Scope of work

  • Designing the layout and visual elements of the 18 IOPs (approximately 25 pages each), including the cover and infographics.
  • Designing the layout and visual elements of 3 Investment Diagnostic Reports (each approximately 100 pages long), including the cover and infographics.
  • Collaborating with the program team to create visually appealing and informative graphics for the program brief/fact sheet.
  • Ensuring all design work is consistent with program branding guidelines and visual identity.
  • Providing creative input and suggestions for improving the overall look and feel of the IOPs and Investment Diagnostic Reports.
  • Revising and refining designs based on feedback from the programs team and other stakeholders.
  • Delivering print-ready and digital versions of all outputs

Deliverable

The graphics designer will be expected to deliver the following:

  • Graphically designed Investment Opportunity Profiles (IOPs) include cover and layout.
  • Graphically designed Investment Diagnostic Reports including cover and layout.
  • Revised designs based on feedback from the communications team and stakeholders.
  • Finalized products above, ready for printing and implementation.
  • Final artwork files in editable formats (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, or equivalent), plus high-resolution PDFs/PNGs.

Proposal Submission

Each application must consist of:

  • An application/cover letter. The letter should be no longer than two pages.
  • Technical proposal not exceeding 10 pages. With the following as annexes:
  • Previous similar assignments within the last three years.
  • Contact details of three organizations that have contracted with the firm for a similar assignment within the last 3 years.
  • Financial proposal. The proposed fees must be a total “fixed price” quotation, indicating the overall total amount in Kenya Shillings, inclusive of all taxes. The calculation of fees should indicate a detailed breakdown of the cost calculation, specifying:
  • Details of professional fees and time input specified based on the approximate size of documents provided.
  • Detailed breakdown of reimbursables such as communication and any other related costs.
  • Proposed payment terms.

Statutory Requirements

Interested consultants are expected to submit the following statutory documents as part of the mandatory requirements:

  • Kenyan firms: copies of a valid Kenyan certificate of tax compliance, certificate of incorporation, and company KRA PIN certificate.
  • Kenyan individuals: copies of a valid Kenyan certificate of tax compliance, KRA PIN certificate, and National Identification Card/ Passport.
  • International firms: Copies of Company Incorporation certificate, Tax-payer registration documents, Tax compliance certificate for your respective countries.
  • International Individuals: Copies of Tax-payer registration documents, Tax compliance certificate (where applicable), Passports/ National Identity card for your respective countries

Evaluation Criteria

  • Proposals will be evaluated to ensure that they meet all mandatory requirements and are responsive. To determine responsiveness, a proposal must include all documentation as requested under the proposal submission section. Proposals that fail to meet these requirements will receive no further consideration. Responsive proposals will be evaluated and ranked according to the criteria below.

Technical qualifications

  • Education and technical experience of the expert/firm.
  • Understanding of the scope and/or assignment.
  • Proposed methodology and approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and coordinating similar assignments.
  • Consultants with a minimum score of 70% will be considered technically qualified, their applications will proceed to the financial evaluation stage, and they will be invited for an oral interview.
