Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving the adoption and expansion of the Grocery / Retail solutions. This role is pivotal to our mission of transforming the Grocery / Retail experience, making it more seamless and engaging for customers while streamlining operations for our Grocery / Retail business partners. The ideal candidate will be the driving force behind selling our solutions to potential prospects in the Grocery / Retail area, managing end-to-end partner launches (including coordination with supportive functions), conducting on-site onboarding and training, and ensuring the continued success and satisfaction of our activated partners. This role requires strong commercial skills, sharp intuition for business, as well as exceptional analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Main Responsibilities:
Secure New Business and Drive Revenue Growth:
- Define key enterprise leads in the Grocery / Retail area in the country.
- Negotiate and close deals by fostering strong relationships with business partners in the Grocery / Retail area.
Partner Relationship Management:
- Maintain ongoing communication with business partners via phone, email, and on-site visits to monitor and support their progress towards business objectives.
- Act as the primary contact for new business partners, guiding them through the onboarding process and addressing operational and administrative issues.
- Operationally support partners to ensure great customer experience and continuously improve their performance.
- Prepare and analyse key performance indicators and improvement points, defining growth and marketing strategies, coordinating trade plans and monetisation.
Performance Analysis and Forecasting:
- Be responsible for budgeting and owning the P&L.
- Analyse key performance metrics to identify insights for improving performance.
- Forecast growth trends and evaluate the achievement of business goals.
- Operational Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and refine operational strategies to address daily commercial and operational challenges.
- Ensure smooth business partner activation and alignment with the commercial strategy, particularly during expansion / store roll out phase.
Innovation and Development:
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and competitive dynamics.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of frameworks and playbooks to enhance business practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product, customer success, campaigns, partner operations, and customer service departments to drive business growth.
Requirements:
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Grocery / Retail Business Development, Account Management, B2B Sales, or related fields.
- Proven track record of achieving business growth and sales targets.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in both the local operational language and English, with excellent proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
- Communication and Negotiation:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging and persuading decision-makers.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with business partners.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical skills to leverage data in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Expertise in improving partner performance and success through data-driven insights.
Adaptability:
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and proactively address challenges.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing effective, solution-oriented strategies.
