Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct patients, families and health care staff on individualized diet therapy, general nutrition principles, food selection and preparation.
  • Conduct nutritional screenings/assessments for assigned patients applying the nutrition care process.
  • Develop, review and adapt therapeutic and modified diets to meet the needs of individual patients in cooperation with health care staff.
  • Instruct the catering team on food preparation in diet kitchen for conformance with prescribed diets and standards of sanitation, palatability, appearance and nutritional quality.
  • Monitor nutrition programs to ensure compliance with local standards and regulations.

Qualifications and skills    

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics or any other related field.
  • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
  • Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant nutrition knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
  • Must be indexed by Kenya Nutritionists and Dietician Institute(KNDI).
