Position Summary:

We are seeking a visionary Consultant to design and deliver a high-impact Training Program in Road Design, Construction, and Maintenance. The Consultant will bring deep technical expertise, industry insights, and proven capacity-building skills to strengthen the knowledge and practical capabilities of infrastructure professionals.

This assignment requires a dynamic individual who can combine cutting-edge engineering knowledge with innovative training methodologies to ensure that participants are equipped to manage complex road infrastructure projects, from concept to maintenance, with efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Design & Delivery

• Develop and facilitate a comprehensive training curriculum covering advanced concepts in road design, modern construction methodologies, and proactive maintenance strategies.
• Apply interactive and practical learning approaches such as case studies, simulations, group problem-solving, and field-based exercises to ensure applicability.
• Integrate international best practices with local realities to ensure relevance and adaptability.

Technical Leadership

• Provide expert guidance on pavement and geometric design, drainage systems, sustainable material use, road safety standards, and construction supervision.
• Introduce participants to emerging technologies, including digital design tools, road asset management systems, and sustainable construction innovations.
• Promote standards aligned with AASHTO, Eurocodes, HDM-4, PIARC, and other recognized frameworks.

Capacity Building & Knowledge Transfer

• Empower participants to transition from theory to practice by providing mentorship and actionable insights.
• Facilitate dialogue and peer-to-peer learning to build a strong professional network among participants.
• Equip organizations with frameworks for long-term asset management, preventive maintenance, and lifecycle cost optimization.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure knowledge transfer and skills improvement.
• Provide strategic recommendations for enhancing institutional and organizational capacity in road infrastructure delivery.
• Deliver a comprehensive final report capturing training outcomes, participant feedback, and long-term recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
• At least 10–15 years of professional experience in road infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.
• Demonstrated success in facilitating high-level technical training or consultancy assignments across government agencies, donor-funded projects, or corporate institutions.
• Extensive knowledge of international engineering standards, road asset management systems, and innovative construction technologies.
• Proven ability to deliver corporate training programs that balance technical rigor with practical application.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills with a corporate presentation style.
