Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Served in the grade of Assistant Director of Livestock Production for a minimum period of three (3) years.
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Apiculture, Food Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Range Management, Natural Resources Management, Livestock/Agricultural Economics, Dairy Technology, or Agriculture Education from a recognized institution.
• Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Apiculture, Food Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Range Management, Natural Resources Management, Livestock/Agricultural Economics, Dairy Technology, or Agriculture Education from a recognized institution.
• Certificate in a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated a thorough understanding of national/county goals, policies, and development objectives, and ability to translate them into trade development projects.
