  • To advance this mission, we are seeking a Business Development Officer to design, activate, and scale a growth engine that connects us with high-value opportunities, clients, and partners.

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to attract and secure high-value, mission-aligned clients.
  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships that open doors to new opportunities.
  • Rolling out business development systems (CRM, dashboards, client feedback frameworks) to institutionalize a sustainable pipeline.
  • Supporting client engagement and ensuring exceptional client experience.
  • Training and equipping the OGOLAW team with business development skills and tools for long-term self-sufficiency.

We are seeking a professional who brings:

  • A legal background (mandatory).
  • A proven track record in business development for professional services (preferably legal, environmental, or advisory).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of African and international sustainability, ESG, and conservation markets.
  • Experience with BD systems and tools (CRM, client satisfaction frameworks, performance dashboards).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and training skills.
  • The ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution.

Deliverables

Within the engagement period, the Officer is expected to deliver results in the following areas:

  • Client Attraction & Acquisition – Build a predictable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Partnerships & Alliances – Establish mutually beneficial relationships with organizations that amplify our market access and impact.
  • Client Experience & Satisfaction – Introduce systems to embed feedback, testimonials, and client success stories.
