Lab Technician Job CITAM

Key Responsibilities

  • General management of the school laboratory and the equipment and reagents within the lab.
  • Planning, budgeting and making requisitions for the lab equipment and reagents in conjunction with the school administration as per the needs.
  • Keeping clear records of reagents and laboratory equipment’s.
  • Liaise with academic staff to discuss timetables and lab equipment requirements.
  • Prepare equipment and reagents before lessons.
  • Ensure that equipment’s are properly cleaned, and ensure reagents and other lab materials are appropriately stored.
  • Supervision of practical activities within the Lab for safe handling of apparatus.
  • Maintain and coordinate repair of laboratory equipment’s and apparatus.
  • Maintain records for learners’ practical sessions, tracking methods and results.
  • Provide support to teachers during laboratory sessions and offer technical advice where applicable.
  • Laboratory reagents & equipment stock control.
  • Staying current on technical and scientific advances in the field.

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must be born-again, mature Christians who conform to the CITAM statement of faith.
  • A minimum of a Diploma course in Laboratory Technology Or any other relevant course from a reputable institution of learning.
  • Should have a minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar position
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of learners.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or situations.
  • Flexibility to work in other towns within the Country
