Site Health & Safety Officer Job Session Blue Contractors

Job Summary

The Site Health & Safety Officer will be required to facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and advise on minimizing hazards or unhealthy situations in the upcoming projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety Tasks
  • Housekeeping/record keeping on site.
  • Report writing.
  • Provision of PPEs and accounting for their usage.
  • Maintaining records of safety inventories.
  • Write daily, weekly safety and health reports or injury logs and submit them to the Health and Safety Officer.
  • Ensuring proper use of PPEs by workers while conducting monitoring on compliance.
  • Eliminating physical hazards through the maintenance of good housekeeping.
  • Daily reporting of site compliance, incidents, and accidents reporting.
  • Raising daily concerns from issues on-site that may pose potential hazards.
  • Responsible for keeping a daily record of workers/employees on site on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
  • Post-training in safety-related short courses will be an added advantage.
  • Proven/prior competency in handling safety/health aspects in a construction site.
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • NEBOSH certificate will be an added advantage.
