Lead Consultant – Research, M&E Job IRES

Location: Kilifi County, Kenya (Ganze, Kilifi North, Malindi, Rabai & Kaloleni Sub-counties)
Duration: Short-Term Consultancy (November 2025 – January 2026)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Consultant – Research, Monitoring & Evaluation to provide technical leadership and oversight for research and evaluation assignments undertaken by IRES. The successful candidate will ensure methodological rigor, quality assurance, and adherence to ethical standards in all stages of project design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of research and evaluation methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Supervise and mentor field and data management teams.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical research principles and data protection standards.
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Draft high-quality reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input during proposal development and project design.
  • Maintain communication with partners, donors, and implementing agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Social Sciences, Public Health, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Demography, or Statistics.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience leading research and evaluations.
  • Demonstrated experience in SRHR, gender, health systems, or social protection projects.
  • Strong analytical skills using SPSS, STATA, or R, and advanced report writing ability.
  • Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary research teams.
