6 Kenyan Personalities You Didn’t Know Studied At Harvard University

Without education you might possibly not get anywhere, Kenyans are pulling their weight on that one and you will find that most are striving to get the best education there is ,including going abroad to further their education.

But did you know these Kenyan personalities attended Harvard University?

1. Julia Ojiambo
She the first Kenyan woman to study at the prestigious Harvard University School of Public Health, the first to receive a PhD degree from the University of Nairobi where she would also be the first African woman to be appointed a lecturer.

She was the first woman to be appointed an assistant minister in independent Kenya, and she was the only woman amongst the top political leaders who in 2007 formed the original Orange Democratic Movement or ODM.

2.Titus Naikuni
Dr. Titus Naikuni has been Chief Executive Officer, Group Managing Director and Director at Kenya Airways Ltd since February 2003.

He holds Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi.

He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Management Development Program

3.Mbuvi Ngunze
Mbuvi Ngunze has served as Chief Operating Officer at Kenya Airways Ltd since September 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree accounting option from the University of Nairobi.

He is a Chartered Accountant from England and Wales and is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Management Development Program.

4.Catherine Gicheru

Many may not know her but she is the editor of The Star newspaper,. She started as a junior reporter at Nation Media Group and rose through the ranks. She was at Harvard University in 1989.

5.Zafrullah Khan
Mr. Khan is the Group Managing Director at Chase Bank he is a chartered accountant with over 30 years experience in finance and Banking in Kenya. Mr. Khan is a Harvard Alumni.

6.Henry K. Rotich
Cabinet secretary treasury, he holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Nairobi and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the same University.
