Revealed! Equity Bank & Safaricom Among Top Companies in Customer Service

Customer service is one of the most exciting and diverse careers as plenty of job seekers cannot resist the temptation of its amazing benefits.

From interacting with members of the public day in day out to having a chance to help people sort out their issues, there are many reasons why job seekers fancy this career.

Have you ever reflected on the customer service treatment you had in a company whether good or bad and also had the opportunity to judge?
According to an article by The People Daily  several companies were awarded as having possessed exemplary customer service to its clients.

The paper reported that “The winning organizations were drawn from the banking, telecommunications, supermarkets, universities, fuel stations, insurance and public service sectors, demonstrated why customer service should be linked to growth of businesses.”

The event which was sponsored by Kenya orient insurance awarded Equity Bank, Safaricom, Nakumatt Holdings, University of Nairobi, Total petrol station, ICEA Lion Insurance and Huduma Centres courtesy of 6,000 customers interviewed in a four-day survey earlier in the year.

The big question is do you agree with the report?
“I do not have a problem with Safaricom being on the list. Everyone can agree that the company offers exemplary customer service,” says Stephen Nzioka, a casual worker at Nairobi’s industrial area.

“Most of their operators are very friendly and likeable and your problem will always be solved. They are always patient, have a pleasant personality and can communicate to you in a language you can understand” he says.

“I am not sure about other companies but I am an Equity bank customer and I can tell you that their customer service is outstanding. The bank is equally concerned about its customer’s demands and needs,” says Simon Githinji, an IT expert at a leading communication firm.

“You are not put on hold or talked to rudely but your grievances are dealt with in a professional manner,” he says.

“I think many companies need to borrow a leaf from Equity. I know of companies that I contacted that leave all of my calls unanswered.” says Alison kariuki, a graphic designer at a computer company.

“I do agree with the fact that customer service is one of the reasons why a company flourishes.

If I am not served in a rightful manner and quickly dismissed, then rest assured that I will not seek services from the company again.

I will definitely spread the word about your poor service which is damaging to a business.

She further adds that, “This should be a wake-up call to companies to invest more in customer service personnel.

The customer is always right and you have a duty to serve him in the way that they deserve,” she concludes.

What’s your take on this survey on awarding these companies?
