Job Group ‘H’ (2 POSTS)

VCT Counselors Job Duties and Responsibilities

• To create awareness and educate the Community about the existence of VCT services.
• To provide on-going counseling and make relevant referrals for on-going support including Home Based Care, Medical Clinics, TB Clinics, Support Groups, and Post Test Clubs.
• To ensure quality of VCT services at all times.
• To keep accurate VCT records.
• To ensure high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the VCT rooms.
• To mobilize mobile VCT teams.
• To ensure safe storage of Clinic related items and equipment.
• To compile and submit VCT reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly to the VCT manager on time.
• To prepare work plans in the area of operation.
• To request for all the necessary consumables for undertaking the VCT activities on time.
• To maintain and uphold Government policies, HIV/AIDS related policies and guidelines and observe VCT protocols.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements for the VCT Counselors Job

• Diploma in HIV&AIDS Management and Counseling from a recognized Institution in Kenya.
• Hold of Certificate in Voluntary Counseling and Testing (HIV&AIDS) from a recognized Institution with three years working experience in a busy Government Health facility.
