Our client, one of Kenya’s leading Manufacturer of quality healthy food stuff for both domestic and export markets is seeking to fill the position of FACTORY MANAGER, reporting to the CEO.

Supervises: Team leaders, Production, Maintenance & Administrative staff

Job Summary

Manage and Process Products by supervising staff; planning, organizing and monitoring work flow through the Factory, ensuring adherence to Quality standards and optimal returns.

Responsibilities for the Factory Manager Job

  • Planning and organizing production schedules, ensuring the manufacturing process are run smoothly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance of operations with company policy as well as relevant statutory obligations.
  • Ensures the quality of processes and products in order to fulfill internal and customer targets.
  • Planning and controlling of costs versus budget.
  • Planning and controlling of resources (Equipment, People, Material).
  • Maintenance of all equipments; Short­ term inspections of equipment, cleaning; Continuous care of the equipment; Preventive maintenance
  • Continuous improvement of product / process / variable & fix cost
  • Ensure that the factory complies with Quality control standards such as Total Quality Management (TQM), and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop a performance management system for the team, and provide leadership to the factory teams.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive work environment for all employees, develop a mentorship & team development.
  • Lead in research & development of products and generating innovative ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications for the Factory Manager Job

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in food science, business management, Engineering or /project management or their equivalent.
  • 5-8 years work experience in food processing industry with 5 years in a senior position.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in Quality Management Certification Systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000:2005 or equivalent
  • Must be at least 30 years of age.
  • Great organization and management skills
  • Effective supervision skill and ability to lead a team
  • Mature and responsible.
