Business Analyst Job at Sheer Logic 

Sheer Logic is looking for two Business Analysts with an excellent working knowledge of ERP.

This role support management on daily, tactical and operational decisions through provision of timely reports and key analyses of relevant information during each given assignment. The role also enhances business risk management by strengthening process cycle reviews as well as implementation of internal control actions during each given assignment

Context 

The company’s key objective is to enhance performance through improved margins and cost control measures in an environment with multiple risks caused by competition activities, a very challenging market, inflationary pressures and the threat of cheap imports into the region

The position will work closely with the Sales and Marketing functions, interfacing with the Sales Manager (Kenya), Customer Service manager Kenya, Marketing Manager, Product development Manager, Supply Chain Analyst and other business process owners and functional heads as required by each assignment to collate and analyse data, reviewing trends and recommend actions while ensuring that the control environments is sound at all times without compromising service as well as business opportunities.

The role provides support through collating of planning assumptions, modelling of plans to assist decision making as well as analysis of business performance information to the following functions: Customer Service, Sales, Group control, and Internal Audit

Responsibilities for the Business Analyst Job

  • Assemble and analyse business ERP data as well as Macro, Industry and market specific data into information, and avail to management in a timely fashion for strategic, tactical and operational requirements
  • Timely generation & submission of Sales & Volumes, SGA & CAPEX performance reports including the daily sales report, monthly performance dashboard, monthly HFM, S&V uploads etc
  • Provide support to Heads of Departments and project managers in regular analysis and follow up of SGA & CAPEX
  • Provide support in driving the planning through the budgeting and forecasting processes especially the monthly rolling forecasts
  • Support Commercial management in computation & timely processing of customer discounts, credit notes and returns
  • Provide SAP support to enhance efficiency in transaction processing and drive appropriate system changes
  • Track and maintain up-to-date process flows and controls as well as documenting the same in the RVR (Group risk management tool).
  • Ensure periodic generation and review of exception reports and implementation of other internal control actions for management control purposes
  • Model projects to drive key decisions as well as other improvement initiatives
  • Reviews and recommends capital projects to be approved by BU management team.
  • Prepares accurate and timely monthly capital expenditure reports for the BU’s management reporting and group reporting.
  • Prepare for review by the Business Controller key performance presentations for use by management e.g. Executive Committee (monthly), Board (quarterly), Financial results (bi-annually) and other impromptu presentations as may be required by management.
  • Prepare for review by the Business Controller detailed analysis of the monthly overall performance files (CIME files) and periodic reviews as required ensuring consistency of information with other reports e.g. S&V, HFM etc to advise management on corrective actions and enable decision making

Qualifications for the Business Analyst Job

  • Technical Competencies
  • A degree `in Engineering, Statistics, Commerce or Finance & ACCA/ CPA.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a busy commercial/ business environment
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Excellent understanding and application of management information systems
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and specifically spreadsheet design

  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, self-driven with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Multitasking capabilities with strong ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects under strict timelines.
