Basic Salary Scale: Ksh.19, 323 – Ksh.24, 662 pm (Job Group ‘H’)

Qualifications for the Laboratory Technologist Job

  • For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a;
  • Diploma in any of the following fields:-Applied Science(Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or Physics) from a recognized institution
    OR
  • Diploma in Building/Civil Engineering, Earth Science or Technology from a recognized institution;

Responsibilities for the Laboratory Technologist Job

This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer.

  • Collecting, registering, drilling cores analyzing sample;
  • Carrying out simple field investigations;
  • Undertaking analytical and/or diagnostic work on materials, geological concrete, water, rock, and bitumen samples; and
  • Maintaining of laboratory equipment for scientific and civil engineering work.
