Job Summary
This position is responsible for designing or creating graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs such as packaging, displays or logos. Incumbent will also be responsible for developing the overall layout and production design for various applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines and corporate reports.

Web & Graphics Designer Job Key Responsibilities

  • Plans concept by studying information and materials.
    Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
    Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
    Prepares final layout print – ready files of art.
    Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type, size, style and related aesthetic concepts.
    Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.
    Completes projects by coordinating with clients and outside suppliers.
    Maintains technical knowledge by engaging in continual on the job training resources, reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    Process skills: knowledge and experience to fulfill artwork in a multi-media platform. This includes determining papers, colours, printing processes and camera-ready output.
    Create 3D visualization of the various exhibitions and field days for easier conceptualization of the idea behind it.
    Create mini movies for the company on the various products the company offers either on request or own volition.

Qualifications for the Web & Graphics Designer Job

  • Diploma in Graphic Design.
  • At least two year experience in graphic design activities.
  • Computer skills: computer design software systems; primarily Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects etc.)
  • Client/Vendor Relations: Must have exceptional listening skills and must be willing to interact with the customer base and translate their ideas into effective design. Must be willing to accept that the clients’ ideas are not always right, but must be given utmost consideration. May also be called upon to make presentations when needed.
  • Workload Organization Skills: Prioritize, organize and manage a substantial workload. This includes being able to complete job in a timely manner or on a specified deadline. This skill set also involves being able to finish jobs in less time than quoted to maximize profitability.
  • One should be able to complete in-house paperwork to ensure proper billing and documentation. Work in tandem with others in the design department, sharing responsibility of workloads, quality control and the like.
