Water Officer I Jobs at Kenya Water Tower Agency
Level: KWTA 6
The Officers at this level will be reporting to the Assistant Director or Regional Coordinator in the Directorate of Governance and Coordination.

Water Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Participating in identification and zonation of water for protection and recovery;
  • Participating in identification and zonation of catchment lands, biodiversity hotspots and wetlands for gazettement, protection and conservation in counties;
  • Participating and contributing in identification of riparian reserves in rivers, wetlands and lakes for rehabilitation;
  • Participating in implementation of integrated water management plans;
  • Participating and contributing in project/programme implementation;
  • Organizing stakeholders forums;
  • Participating in dissemination of water towers programmes and policies;
  • Participating and contributing in Monitoring of projects and programmes.

Qualifications for the Water Officer Job

  • Have a Degree from a recognized institution in the following fields: Meteorology, Cartography, Natural
  • Resource Management, Documentation, Hydrology, Botany, Ecology, Geo-Spatial survey, GIS, Remote sensing, Environmental Science or any other relevant field;
    OR
  • Have a Higher National Diploma with two years relevant work experience in the following fields: Meteorology, Cartography, Natural Resource Management, Documentation, Hydrology, Botany, Ecology, Geo-Spatial survey, GIS, Remote sensing, Environmental Science or any other related field;
  • Have relevant computer applications skills
  • Demonstrate communication and leadership skills
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
