Head of Facilities Job at Telkom Kenya

Role Purpose

Planning, organisation, implementation and control of key Facilities activities such as countrywide buildings maintenance, organisation of support services, supplier-management for Facilities, etc. This role also involves managing a team.

Responsibilities for the Head of Facilities Job

  • Maintenance
  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance services and repairs pertaining to buildings and related equipment
  • Execute all maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts, schedule installations and oversee that such repairs are accomplished in a safe and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records with regard to annual inspections of equipment and general preventative maintenance
  • Manage refurbishment projects
  • Space planning initiatives and maintenance of office space for staff
  • Fire extinguishers and other fire-hazard related equipment
  • Team Management and Supplier Management
  • Coordinate with internal staff and suppliers/contractors to achieve goals and  contribute to corporate achievements
  • Develop and manage Facilities performance control system to measure the quality of service delivered
  • Manage relationships with all TKL authorized facilities suppliers/contractors
  • Prepare briefings to vendors/suppliers for facilities support

Support Services e.g.:

  • Cleaning
  •  Catering
  • Travel and accommodation (for staff and consultants)
  • Payments of utility bills
  • Management of HQ Reception
  • Supply and maintenance of furniture, water, etc.
  • Gardening services Etc.
  • Take charge of any emergencies and ensure responsible back-up is available in order to take corrective action as necessary.
  • Develop and managebudgets for Facilities
  • Perform any other duty as maybe assigned by Management.

Qualifications for the Head of Facilities Job

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience

Professional Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of OSHA 2007 (rev. 2010)
