The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established through an Act of Parliament; Act Number 33 of 26th October, 2012. The Authority is mandated with effectively managing the road transport sub-sector, minimizing road traffic accidents and loss of lives resulting therefrom.

Pursuant to this mandate, the Authority seeks to recruit highly motivated, visionary, dynamic and results oriented candidates to fill the under mentioned positions;

Under the direct supervision of the Enforcement Manager and team supervisors, the Enforcement Officer will perform the following duties among others:

Duties for the Enforcement Officer On Motor Cycle Job

  • Enforce the NTSA ACT 2012 and Traffic Act;
  • Undertake highway patrol to detect and curb non-compliant offenders;
  • Carry out investigations on matters pertaining to road safety and taking necessary action;
  • Ensure road users comply with the law including pedestrians and motorists;
  • Educate motorists on matters related to road safety;
  • Gather intelligence on matters pertaining to road safety and analyzing the information;
  • Organize and execute operations which involve drunk driving and speed detection;
  • Liaise with traffic police officers in enforcing the traffic laws;
  • Detect fake and un-prescribed registration number plates and take necessary action;
  • Document and compile all reports related to road safety;
  • Keep safe custody of exhibits obtained from offenders;
  • Be responsible for and safeguard the motorbike assigned to them and report any defect or need for service; and
  • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Enforcement Officer On Motor Cycle Job Qualifications

  • Must have served as an Enforcement Officer III or in comparable position in a reputable organization for at least three years. Professional Motor Cycle riding experience is mandatory;
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning. Qualification in Criminology, Lead Auditing, Engineering or Investigation will be an added advantage;
  • At least 4 years of continuous riding experience with at least the last two years riding motorbike of 700cc and above;
  • Affiliation to a recognized professional organization is preferred;
  • Self-motivated person with a passion for riding;
  • Minimum age of 25 years;
  • Must possess high standard of honesty, integrity, good judgment, and be able to effectively communicate both orally and in written form;
  • Must be willing and ready to work in all weather conditions and other less-than-desirable conditions;
  • No applicant shall be considered if they have been released or discharged other than on honorable discharge from any of the Disciplined Forces;
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License class F, G. as at the date of application;
  • Must have undergone or willing to undergo First Aid training;
  • Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, weekends and on public holidays etc.; and
  • Must have no criminal record.
