General Assistant Job at The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service is a Body Corporate established under Section 55 of the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012 to, among other functions, coordinate the placement of Government-sponsored students to universities and colleges. The job holder is responsible for providing cleaning and general support services as instructed.

General Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy the offices and the aisle on a daily basis, ensuring a good work environment in line with set standards;
  • Empty and clean rubbish bins and ensure appropriate disposal of waste;
  • Carry out periodic general cleaning of the premises;
  • Prepare and serve beverages and ensure adherence to cleanliness and hygiene standards;
  • Cleaning kitchen utensils and towels and ensure continuous availability of crockery and utensils including cups, glasses, plates, spoons etc;
  • Ensure that premises / offices are locked when not in use to enhance security of assets;
  • Run errands for the office e.g. deliver and pick up mail/parcels, purchase office consumables; and
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Requirements for the General Assistant Job

  • Have served for a minimum of two (2) years as a general assistant in a busy work environment or in a similar position in the public or private sector;
  • Have an O Level Certificate;
  • Possession of a relevant Diploma will be an added advantage;
  • Be IT Literate;
  • Have demonstrated a high degree of integrity and level of confidentiality; and
  • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
