Research & Documentation Assistant Job at Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service is a Body Corporate established under Section 55 of the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012 to, among other functions, coordinate the placement of Government-sponsored students to universities and colleges.

Reporting to the Research and Documentation Officer, the Job holder shall be required to carry out, competently and professionally, various general Research and Documentation Services duties.

Research & Documentation Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, designing and conducting of collaborative research on placement and career services;
  • Assist in the development and publication of placement and career information materials;
  • Assist in the requisitioning, classification, indexing, coding and cataloguing of documents, books and other resource and learning materials;
  • Assist in the collection and retention of information on courses and programmes offered by Universities and Colleges;
  • Participate in the process of retention and disposal of records in accordance with the Public Archives and Documentation Act (Cap 19);
  • Assist in the management of the organizations Library/Documentation centre;
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for the Research & Documentation Assistant Job

  • Have served in the position of Research and Documentation Assistant or equivalent for a minimum of two (2) years;
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Research Methodology, Statistics or a related degree qualifications;
  • Be proficient in the relevant computer applications;
  • Have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, integrity and a clear understanding of research and documentation;
  • Have met the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity
