Our client is a corporate body established under the Statistics Act (2006) and is the principal Government agency responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis, publication and dissemination of official statistical information and its custody.

The client also oversees the coordination, supervision and development of programmes
within the National Statistical System.

The client is seeking highly experienced and self-driven individuals with strong business acumen and strategic minds to competitively fill the position below:

Job Title: Statistical Assistant, Manufacturing Statistics – Production Statistics (Level 7)

No. of Posts: 2

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Statistics, and the job holder will be responsible for collection compilation of manufacturing statistics.

Statistical Assistant, Manufacturing Statistics Job Responsibilities

  • Liaising with manufacturing data producers and suppliers;
  • Collecting, validating/verifying and data pertaining to manufacturing statistics;
  • Monitoring changes in the manufacturing sector in terms of entry and exit of establishments
  • Participating in the preparation, and execution of monthly survey of industrial production (MSIP), Survey of Industrial Production (SIP)-annual & Census of Industrial
  • Production (CIP) after every 5 years
  • Collecting and compiling quarterly and annual Index of Industrial Production (IIP)
  • Collecting the quarterly producer Price indices (PPI)
  • Maintaining and updating the manufacturing statistics checklists and databases
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Manufacturing Statistics.

Qualifications for the Statistical Assistant, Manufacturing Statistics Job

  • Diploma in Statistics OR Certificate in Statistics from a recognized institution with three (3) years progressive track record in statistical work in a public or a key private sector institution;
  • Must possess basic computer skills;
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment;
  • Must demonstrate good communication and inter personal skills;
  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
