Chief Analyst, Humanities & Social Sciences Job at NACOSTI

Reporting to the Director, Scheduled Sciences, the Chief Analyst will undertake the following

Responsibilities

• Develop draft policy briefs for advisory and priority setting within Humanities and Social Sciences;
• Implement programmes for the promotion and awareness creation on the research system within Humanities and Social Sciences;
• Propose priority programmes for the development of Humanities and Social Sciences;
• Provide input into the review of applications for registration of research institutions and licensing of research projects in Humanities and Social Sciences;
• Provide secretariat to the Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Research Committee;
• Prepare position papers in Humanities and Social Sciences;

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a subject area within the Humanities and Social Sciences field (Linguistics, Anthropology, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Religious Studies, Geography, Psychology, Archeology, Anthropology, Philosophy, History, Demography, Theology)or equivalent from a recognized university;
• Masters degree in a subject area within the Humanities and Social Sciences field specified in (i) above or equivalent from a recognized university;
• At least ten (10) years relevant work experience in a public or private institution;
  At least three (3) years’ experience in management;
• Demonstrated results in work performance;
• Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and

Demonstrate the following key competencies and skills:

• Communication and reporting skills;
• Strategic thinking;
• Analytical skills;
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills;
• Integrity;
• Team player;
• Mentoring, coaching and leadership skills;
