Logistics Officer Job. Sheer Logic (60K)

Job Purpose

Manage and oversee inbound and Outbound Logistics Operations to ensure cost effective faster and efficient turnaround time (TAT).

Responsibilities

  • Documentation and continuous review of Outbound and Inbound Logistics Policy, Strategy and Procedures;
  • Continuous process and strategy deliverable measurement, gap analysis and improvement plan development and execution;
  • 100% timely compliance to regulatory procedures and requirements and internal policies;
  • Proactive performance monitoring, measurement and review of 3PL service providers;
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all imports and exports in line with customs and related government requirements;
  • Manage the C& F service providers to ensure timely Clearance of all imported consignments (5 & 10 days for air freights and sea freights respectively);
  • Be the Single Point of Contact with Customs and Government on both current and historical customs audits;
  • Proactive engagement with customs authorities through benchmarks, data analysis and relationship management to mitigate against duty exposures due to unreasonable and unwarranted customs value and tarrif disputes;
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all RR exports and re-imports;
  • Risk identification and mitigation especially due to customs documentation and duty exposures;
  • Liaison with network and equipment vendors to ensure timely scheduling and delivery of all rollout equipment to support the company Rollout Plans by either delaying or accelerating deliveries accordingly;
  • Management of all internal and external stakeholder expectations including but not limited to timely and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a busy Logistics environment;
  • Sound understanding and extensive experience in Kenya Customs procedures;
  • Working Knowledge and Exposure to KRA, KPA & KEBS and related Government agencies;
  • University degree in Business, Management or Procurement and Supply Chain or equivalent;
  • Graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (UK);
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP Applications; Oracle (or equivalent) and MS Office (Ms Excel, Ms Power Point, Vision Ms Word); and
  • KISM Membership.
