Our Client, the Nyeri Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NYEWASCO), is a limited liability company whose main mandate is to provide high quality water and sewerage services to residents of Nyeri County on commercial terms. The company wishes to recruit transformational individuals to occupy the following positions.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Commercial Services and Strategy ensures prudent management of commercial function and continuous improvement of customer service delivery and monitoring and reporting on implementation of the strategic plan. The position supervises Debt Control, billing, meter reading, customer services and marketing/ business development functions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all the data with regards to monthly meter readings and payments is entered and verified
  • Ensuring timely billings of all services provided to customers
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing accurate reports as required
  • Liaising with other sections in provision of quality service to customers
  • Attending promptly to complaints from customers
  • Processing new customer accounts, Updating the customers register/accounts
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the business development strategy for the company
  • Oversee performance management in the department
  • Identify training needs for the divisional staff
  • Develop division budget and work plan
  • Mentor and coach division staff
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the department
  • Prepare Board management papers for approval
  • Identify procurement needs of the division
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Responsible for physical assets assigned by the company
  • Makes strategic, operational and financial decisions for the department
  • Plans the work of subordinates
  • Assigns work to subordinates
  • Monitors subordinates work performance
  • Appraises/evaluates subordinates’ performance
  • Work closely with other division /sections in all areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or any other Business-Related Field from a recognized institution
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, or any other Business-Related Field
  • CPA (K), ACCA or relevant professional qualification.
  • Member of professional body in good standing
  • At least 7 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and Integrity
