Project Chief Engineer Job. Frank Management

Our client a leading Group of companies in East Africa is seeking to fill the role of a Chief Engineer to head its housing projects across the region.

The Chief Engineer will set the vision and strategy, sparks innovation and creativity, motivating teams to do their very best.

This role is responsible for overseeing all the Engineering & Construction functions that include facility design & construction, regulatory services, pipeline design & construction, process control, planning, development services & environmental engineering in the Region.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for all construction, Maintenance and/ rehabilitation of all residential/ commercial & Industrial building projects in the region
• Oversees surveying and mapping functions all residential/ commercial & Industrial building projects in the region
• In Charge of the planning, design and construction of all the residential/ commercial & Industrial building projects in the region
• Guide and oversee the rehabilitating and reconstruction of facilities
• Manage design; rehabilitation and maintenance of process controls for all the projects in the region Take part in the consultant selection process for architect/engineer contracts
• Oversees the issuance of permits and all the legal necessities required for construction and/ rehabilitation of in the region
• Conceptualize, direct and manage crucial Commission engineering projects and programs
• Oversees management of in-house engineering services for complex, urgent and/or emergency projects
• Evaluates the peer review of consultants’ designs and reports to ensure good engineering practices are used and for compliance with the safety guidelines, company’s policy and legislation in each county
• Supervises diverse staff of engineers and technical professionals including industry subject matter experts; selects/recommends selection, trains, assigns and evaluates work, counsels, disciplines, and/or terminates/recommends termination

Qualifications

• Degree in Building /Construction, Civil/ Structural Engineering and Architecture
• 12+ years’ experience in planning and directing complex engineering projects in the region
• 8+ years’ experience in facilities operations & maintenance and/or construction management for residential/ commercial & Industrial building projects in the region
• 4+ years’ experience in engineering management
• Must be willing to relocate and work in any of the countries in East Africa
• Must be a registered Engineer by a Professional Engineers body
• Age: 35 Years and Above
