Project Officer Job. Sportpesa Foundation

The Sportpesa Foundation wishes to recruit a Project Officer. Reporting to the Head of the Foundation, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the project management and coordination function at the Sprotpesa Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scope, project plans, process maps and objectives with the appropriate stakeholders for successful implementation
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time and within scope and budget
  • Ensure clarity of requirements and prepare detailed briefs concerning projects according to the different project types including inter-connected projects
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and periodic reports on project progress and expected out-comes
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Perform risk management and recommend mitigations/remedial action to reduce risk levels
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and records
  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment and information
  • Coordinate internal and third-party vendors for efficient execution of projects
  • Explore, recommend and implement value addition opportunities or process improvement to enhance Foundation projects.
  • Develop networks to support project deliverables and conceptualization of new projects
  • Support project monitoring, evaluation and project Audit processes through provision of supporting project reports and input as appropriate
  • Support the formulation of project related agreements and MoU’s
  • Ensure compliance of all regulatory /statutory and other requirements of the Foundation regarding project related engagements
  • Participate in Tendering process for Foundation procurement of goods and services related to projects
  • Perform any other duties as may be guided by the Foundation Manager or head of Function from time to time

Qualifications

  • Qualifications that demonstrate at least 5 years project management experience in a foundation or non-governmental organization set up
  • A degree in Business Management or related fields
  • Multi-tasking and detailed person
  • Excellent written, reporting and verbal communication skills
  • Project Management experience especially in community work with socio-economic impact areas.
  • Experience working with youth, Women and marginalized publics, Infrastructure as a key or supportive focus in development, Environmental conservation and access of water for communities
  • Basic Financial Management Skills.
  • Public Sector Engagement Skills
  • Willing to be in the field about 30 % of the time and this may include traveling during the weekend.
