Bamburi Cement Limited is looking to employ a Roads Business Developer to join our Commercial team. The position will be based in Nairobi and will report to Commercial Director.

Responsibilities

• Build the strategic plan for road development initiatives
• Identify, track and develop targeted projects for Bamburi Cement Ltd into a pipeline management mode
• Create integrated offers including products and services – mobilize and coordinate all product lines to be able to offer a tailor – made offer with products and services
• Hold and support the offer in front of the major offer committees and local exco
• Follow and animates the development process: tender receipt, proposal, negotiations
• Ensure contract profitability through a commercial evaluation, and a full understanding of risks and liabilities, prior to presenting written proposals
• Stand as the preferred point of contact for contractors at every stage of projects (mainly prior to tender close but also after project award) and promote a professional image at all times.
• Assist in lobbying activities where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education background: Civil engineering or general engineering degree, with eventual specialty in construction management or pavement design.
• At least 10 years of experience in the management of roads construction projects, with solid managerial experience in the road industry with:

1. P&L responsibility on road business activity at regional / national scale
2. Tendering / Bidding / Pricing department experience on road project
3. Project management experience

• Excellent relationship / communication / presentation / negotiation skills
• Persistence (does not give up easily)
• Business sense and strategic thinking
• Adaptability to the changing needs of clients and customers
• Strong ability to influence internally and externally
• Strategic agility, business acumen, customer focus, driving for results.
