Amusement Park Ride Attendant Job

The Ride attendant will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, repairing, and attending to park rides, including boarding and securing passengers, starting and ending rides, and ensuring passengers exit safely.

Responsibilities

• Filling out a pre-opening inspection checklist for the ride you are assigned to work.
• Inspect each ride to make sure that all the functions for your assigned ride work properly.
• Collect tickets rides.
• Ensure appropriate number of people can get on rides. Ensure children are the appropriate height and age for rides.
• Latch passengers in securely and board passengers onto ride. Pull down safety bars, buckle seat belts, or secure harnesses
• Explain safety procedures to riders and point out evacuation routes.
• Operate equipment that starts and shuts down ride.
• Inspect equipment to detect wear and tear. Perform minor and major repairs.
• Stop vehicle and de-board passengers in case of emergencies.
• Provide assistance to clients entering and exiting ride.
• Space rides operated in cars or sections to avoid danger of collisions. Proactively keep an eye on clients and their movements to ensure they are not in any danger
• Clean up debris around ride.
• Enforce all safety regulations and stay current with safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications

• At least a one year certificate from college or technical institution
• Prior theme park or entertainment experience.
• Must be at least 30 years of age
• Friendly, outgoing, and demonstrate the ability to work with people of all ages and different backgrounds.
• Problem sensitivity – the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• Ability to communicate instructions both orally and in writing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in all types of extreme weather
• Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in an environment with high levels of noise and vibrations
• Willingness to be exposed to bright lights, and noisy environments
• Professionalism
