To ensure the facility grounds which is located in Kitengela are maintained to the highest standards, the grounds man will be responsible for the following;

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the facility lawns for a clean and tidy appearance
• Cutting, watering of the grass
• Keeping the facility grounds clear from litter, ensure garbage is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen and other areas.
• Utilize safe and hygienic methods for the removal of dry and wet waste
• Keep the children’s playground, car parks and walkways clean and tidy
• Check the fire alarm points weekly and when requested to do so, including the fire exit and door retaining devices, and fire emergency lights
• Ensure all extraction vents and lighting are kept clean; replacing any defective light bulbs
• Maintain gutter clearance to ensure rainwater flows without blockage
• To contribute to cost control through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliances.
• Assist in setting up all facility pitching areas
• Where relevant, attending to grounds maintenance contractors working on site
• Understand and ensure the implementation of the Health &Safety policy, emergency and fire procedures
• Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment and any potential hazard to the management
• Ensure the security of the facility is maintained at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned from time

Qualifications

• At least Secondary School Education (KCSE).
• A certificate in any course of study is an added advantage
• Must have worked in a similar position for at least one year in a similar position.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Must be well versed with Health and Safety procedures
• An understanding of child safety & protection standards will be a plus
• Current certificate of good conduct, NHIF, NSSF, PIN and Kenyan ID
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent customer Service skills
• High level of integrity
• Flexible
• Reliable
