The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development wishes to recruit qualified Professionals for various vacant positions as outlined below.

SENIOR PRINCIPAL CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER , PRIMARY EDUCATION, GRADE KICD 3, ONE (1) POST

The Senior Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Primary Education

will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development

Responsibilities

  • Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
  • Coordinating the development, implementation and review of curricula and curriculum support materials for Primary education level;
  • Coordinate the development of relevant and quality curricula and curriculum support materials for Primary education level;
  • Coordinating activities of the Academic Committee;
  • Establishing collaborations with stakeholders to ensure that curricula offered in learning institutions meets the required standards;
  • Supervise the review of Curricula and curriculum support materials for Primary education level;
  • Collaborating and establishing partnerships with stakeholders in education;
  • Supervise organization of symposia, exhibition, conferences, workshops and education days for purposes of sharing and disseminating research findings;
  • Initiating collaboration and partnership with stakeholders on education;
  • Supervising preparation od departmental work plan and budget;
  • Supervising implementation of performance appraisal system; and
  • Mentoring and coaching staff in the department

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant must have: –

  • Served in the grade of Principal Curriculum Development Officer, KICD Grade 4 (Primary Education) or in a relevant and equivalent position in the educational sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and
  • Fulfil the requirement of Chapter Six of the constitution
