About the role

The Entrepreneur-in-Residence will be responsible for ideating, implementing and evaluating high-level projects at Ilara’s partner facilities. The ideal candidate we’re looking for is entrepreneurial, experienced in working in cross-functional and agile, fast-paced environments and is comfortable working autonomously across various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own new business ventures by ideating, designing, implementing and evaluating new projects;
  • Track and assess the impact of programs, including establishing deadlines and KPIs;
  • Establish strong relationships with healthcare facilities and personnel, with frequent and effective communication to ensure the success of projects;
  • Build cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Research, understand and identify gaps in diagnostic services across primary healthcare in Kenya, South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Research and identify disruptive medical diagnostic devices suitable for the primary healthcare context;
  • Develop and execute strategies as you gain insights.
  • Work cross-functionally with several internal and external stakeholders;
  • Collaborate closely with the team members to provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives; 

Qualifications

  • > 3 years of working experience in a fast-paced environment (eg startups, consulting, investment banking):
  • Team player with great organizational skills who can operate independently in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment; 
  • Ability to build fruitful relationships with various stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have strong computer skills; 
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. 

A (big) plus

  • Demonstrated understanding of the medical diagnostics landscape in Kenya or South Africa;
  • Experience in designing and implementing healthcare programs, including in the delivery of diagnostics in Sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Basic technical knowledge of diagnostic devices is a plus;
