Key responsibilities:

General cleanliness

• Maintain general cleanliness of laboratory, laboratory apparatus and equipment for safe and reliable results
• Manage laundry of laboratory coats and attire

Sample Management

• Maintain and update Laboratory registers for samples and reference material
• Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents/chemicals and apparatus for accountability
• Prepare culture and media for analysis of samples and ensure safe disposal afterwards.
• Receive samples from clients; assess availability of all the requirements of analysis before logging into the register
• Manage storage areas within the laboratory to ensure accessibility and traceability of samples.
• Prepare samples for disposal and required documentation

Records

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Filing, retrieval and archiving of Laboratory related documents for easy access

Job requirements:

• Diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any other related course
• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience in a Microbiology testing laboratory
• Experience working in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory is desirable
