Job Tittle: Sonographer/Radiographer,

Reports To:  Head of Clinical Services,

Purpose of the Job:

The Sonographer will primarily be responsible for providing quality ultrasound services to our clients, reviewing and analyzing reports and producing the same for physician review.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing all ultrasound procedures including bedside sonography to our patients.
• Take responsibility for keeping the department in general and specifically the work area, clean, tidy and safe.
• Patient preparation before ultrasound procedure.
• Generate and archive images and accurate patient reports as required
• Taking part in routine inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures, reporting any deficiencies or malfunction to the appropriate manager.
• Ensuring effective and economic use of resources.
• Safeguarding hospital equipment and patient’s property from damage, wastage or loss.
• Safeguarding all confidential information concerning patients and their treatment.
• Keeping up-to-date with current techniques and developments in sonography.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Higher Diploma in Ultrasound
• Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences
• At least two (2) years working experience in a busy facility
• Registered and with a valid license from Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority
• Member of the Society of Radiography in Kenya (SORK)
• Proficient in computer applications with good communication & Interpersonal skills
