Scope Of Work

Amref Health Africa in Kenya (Amref), jointly with Amref Italy is implementing a Tuberculosis (TB) pilot project to promote patient-centered care for TB patients through digitization of facility and community data in Nakuru County. The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) to synergize the Global Fund TB grant, for which Amref is the non-state Principal Recipient (PR) for 2021 – 2024.

Through the AICS TB project, Amref will work with Division of Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Lung Disease Program (DNTLD-P) and TB coordinators to roll out the digitization of TB patient data using T-Bu lite, a mobile application for TB diagnosis and treatment monitoring at the health facility level.

We are seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Associate to support the implementation of T-Bu Lite at health facility level. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the M&E efforts to ensure effective implementation and data collection, analysis and utilization for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Develop M&E framework for T-Bu Lite implementation at health facility level
  •  Train health facility staff on T-Bu Lite application usage, data collection, and reporting
  •  Monitor data quality and ensure data completeness and accuracy
  •  Analyze data and provide regular feedback to health facility staff
  •  Generate periodic reports for project stakeholders
  •  Conduct periodic data review meetings with health facility staff
  •  Identify challenges in data collection and propose solutions
  •  Conduct supportive supervision and mentoring visits to health facilities
  •  Develop and maintain a database of health facilities and their performance on T-Bu Lite implementation
  •  Support the project team in reporting to donors and partners
  •  Any other duties assigned by the M&E Officer and/or Programme Manager and/or M&E Advisor

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public health, epidemiology, statistics, Computer Science, ICT or social sciences
  •  At least two years of experience in M&E in public health programs, preferably in TB or infectious diseases
  •  Strong knowledge and experience in designing M&E frameworks, tools, and systems in the health space
  •  Experience in training and capacity building of health facility staff
  •  Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Excel, STATA, SPSS)
  •  Excellent report writing and communication skills
  •  Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  •  Willingness to travel frequently to project sites
  •  Experience in mobile health applications is desirable but not require
  •  A demonstrated ability to lead M&E efforts, work collaboratively with health facility staff, and report on project progress to donors and partners.
  •  Ability to use data to improve project implementation and outcomes.
  • Fluency in English with good verbal and written skills.
