Job Purpose

• This position ensures that the Board leverages IT to deliver its mandate. The position reports to the position reports to the General Manager of Corporate Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all ICT needs of the organization are met and to provide leadership to the ICT Department;
• Formulating and implementing ICT policies, procedures, and plans;
• Managing third-party service providers of ICT services such as the Internet to ensure that the College gets value for money;
• Identifying ICT needs of College staff, students, and clients;
• Developing, implementing, and managing computerized information system;
• Providing ICT services to transform KUC into an automated work environment that supports efficient and effective service delivery;
• Providing appropriate information and guidance on emerging trends and best practices in ICT to enable KUC to optimize usage of technology;
• Providing support for users of KUC’s ICT Services;
• Conducting and co-ordinating user training on various systems
• Maintaining KUC’s information systems.
• Implementing, administrating, and maintaining KUC’s network infrastructure
• Implementing capabilities to ensure Information System security.
• Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this grade.

Person Specifications

• Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution
• Bachelor’s Degree in, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or related from a recognized institution
• Thirteen (13) years of working experience five (5) of which must be in a supervisory position
• Certification in CISA, ITIL, and Project Management Certification e.g. PRINCE2
• Supervisory Skills course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
• Demonstrated results in work performance.
• Membership to a relevant professional body (where applicable).
• Meets provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution
