We are looking for a dynamic well qualified, and motivated individual to join our great team by filling the following vacant position: Senior Finance Officer (HQ)SFO/LVCT/10/2023REPORTING

Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide overall coordination of LVCT Health’s grants portfolio, based in HQ, overseeing the compliance with the various awards and sub-award agreements requirements and LVCT Health policies. The role also supports finance in bank reconciliations and manages allocated grants.The Officer will have a broad and deep understanding of the relevant donor rules and regulations and proactively identify compliance risks throughout the overall grant portfolio. In addition, S/He will work collaboratively with the LVCT Health HQ, ensuringthat LVCT Health complies with the requirements of the various grants. S/He will develop and embed best practices in grants management in compliance with the various donors’ rules and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review and approving and posting documents in the accounting system
  • Providing support during annual donor and organizational audits and ad hoc donor reviews during the year
  • Ensure sequential filing of accounting documents and ensure safe custody of documentation of all the awards and sub-award/Sub agreements, including all modifications/renewals and terminations
  • Grants management and project reporting for special projects
  • Support in the development of proposal budgets as and when called upon
  • Review of sub partner’s monthly budgets and reports, ensuring that payments are adequately supported and compliance.
  • Support during annual donor and organizational audits and ad hoc donor reviews during the year.
  • Donor reporting, tracking and monitoring monthly burn rates for the allocated grant
  • Bank reconciliation for the allocated accounts
  • Proactively lead on the development and execution of the closeout plans for the respective awards in HQ
  • Bank reconciliation for the allocated accounts
  • Any other duties as may be allocated from time to time

Requirement

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A Master’s degree in the aforementioned field will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in a donor-funded organization
  • Experience in USG rules and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams operating at a distance successfully
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills •Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Should demonstrate a positive attitude and behaviour that aligns with program values
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, flexible and ability to handle pressure
  • High ethical standards
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
