Job Summary:

Optimise Outsourcing Ltd are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with expertise in the Far East and China markets to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising our procurement activities in these regions. Your primary objective will be to source suppliers, manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services while leveraging your in-depth knowledge of the Far East and China markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation:

  • Leverage your knowledge of the Far East and China markets to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Assess suppliers based on factors such as quality, cost, reliability, and ethical considerations.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with selected suppliers to secure favorable terms.

Market Expertise:

  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, regulations, and economic factors in the Far East and China.
  • Monitor and analyze market dynamics, including changes in pricing, supply availability, and trade policies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on market-specific procurement strategies.

Cost Management:

  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize procurement costs in the Far East and China markets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchases, strategic partnerships, and negotiation.
  • Monitor currency exchange rates and their impact on procurement costs.

Procurement Process Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures specific to the Far East and China markets.
  • Oversee the purchase requisition process, approvals, and order placement, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of market-specific challenges and adapt procurement processes accordingly.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers in the region.
  • Address and resolve supplier issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, or contract disputes.
  • Continuously assess supplier performance and work on improvements.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate region-specific risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions, quality issues, or regulatory compliance concerns.
  • Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions specific to the Far East and China markets.

Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets for the Far East and China regions.
  • Generate reports and analytics on procurement activities, cost savings, and key performance indicators specific to these markets.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management with a focus on regional insights.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (a master’s degree may be preferred).
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management with a specific focus on the Far East and China markets.
  • Extensive knowledge of market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances in the region.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
