Duties and Responsibilities:

While reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor;

  • Assist in the Development of comprehensive Audit work plans that respond to the needs of the University
  • Design and lead in the execution of audit assignments in the University
  • Perform detailed audit work independently and serve as a team lead on assigned Audit projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive Audit reports that add value to the University
  • Work with the management to develop acceptable solutions to address gaps identified after an Audit engagement
  • Follow up to ensure the full implementation of Audit recommendations as agreed with the management.
  • Prepare detailed Audit working papers to support the Audit findings during an audit engagement.
  • Mentor and train less experienced Audit staff members to develop their capacity and professionalism.
  • Conduct ad-hoc/ special investigations and reviews as requested by management
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or other related areas from an accredited and recognized University
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University
  • A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, and a member of ICPAK
  • At least five (5) years of work experience as an Internal Auditor in a similar/ equitable position from a reputable organization.
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer Literate

A competitive remuneration package which includes a basic salary, generous house allowance, and medical cover will be provided.

For teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow, employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms.
