Job Purpose

To influence the quality and fidelity of programming by building the capacity of young professionals following intentional capacity building and coaching sessions, integrated with their journey in Christianity. More so, the role will provide support to the Monitoring and Evaluation unit to coordinate Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation processes for evidence-based programming, accountability, and learning while maintaining comprehensive M&E systems for the East Africa region.

The role shall be integral in ensuring the collation of quality impact data, visualization, and sharing on the regional impact platforms including WV central, and supporting the Field Offices towards quality and agile needs-based programming, about well-documented and intelligent information from across the region. This role shall enhance innovation by managing online data collection and management tools including Kobo Collect, ODK, etc. targeted to influence quality and timely impact data.

Major Responsibilities

Provide technical support in planning, monitoring, and database management

  • Support review of sampled standardized monitoring forms from National offices
  • Support in the creation and collation of appropriate Annual outcomes and reach data from Field Offices
  • Support analysis, aggregation, and synthesis of impact, monitoring, and evaluation data across the Field Offices and reporting
  • Support in the review of sustainability and Transition plans where appropriate
  • Support in the review of assessment, baseline, and evaluation design documents and related reports
  • Support FOs in collaboration with IT on the utilization of online data collection and management tools including Kobo Collect, ODK, etc.
  • Support indicator reviews and scale up for Our Impact Our Story impact reporting
  • Contributing to brainstorming sessions, proposing ideas, and participating in discussions aimed at innovation or improvement within the region.
  • Support the establishment of a regional office data management system and dashboard for reach and impact data

Support quality assurance in programs and projects

  • Support in the management of monitoring and evaluation systems (Horizon, new Amp Impact, and other online systems that will generate timely information and feedback to all stakeholders).
  • Support the review of sampled program impact reports across the Field Offices
  • Support the Field Offices in conducting Data Quality Assessment
  • Support program-level monitoring, support visits, and data verification
  • Support FOs towards timely submission of annual program plans and budgets, DIPs, ITTs, and Area Programme Narrative

Support the review of program design and transition documents

Support Capacity Building

  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation in capacity building initiatives for compliance and alignment to LEAP framework guidelines, principles, and standards for regional programs and projects
  • Coordinate and support training of the new OIOS monitoring system in the Field Offices

Other

  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor or designee from time to time
  • Participate and contribute in committees and task forces as may be signed from time to time

Qualifications 

Required Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Project Management, or in any related field of study.
  • Demonstrate ability to integrate faith and development in programming.
  • Should demonstrate ability to work in community contexts some of which can be multicultural, multidenominational, multi-faith, Interfaith, and or fragile environments

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be well respected in society for Christian values and professionalism.
  • Good knowledge and commitment to WV’s ethos, philosophy of work, and CORE documents.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills evidenced by previous leadership roles in a church, Christian Union, and/or para-church organization.
  • Must possess sound biblical beliefs.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to be flexible as the demands and priorities change.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field of development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Graduates who are practicing Christians from bible believing and recognized church or fellowship.
  • Graduates who are willing to commit their time to the program for the entire year.
  • Graduates with demonstrated good character, honesty, high competency, and generally in good physical and emotional health.
