The Project

The University of Nairobi is implementing a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project (USAID Fahari ya Jamii) to support the implementation of the Kenya Health Partnerships for Quality Services (HIV, FP/RMNCAH, Nutrition, and WASH) in Nairobi and Kajiado Counties. To successfully implement, the project seeks to competitively fill the above position:

The Position

This is a full-time position based in Kajiado.

Job description

The Strategic Information Associate will coordinate and maintain health information infrastructure for routine patient management, quality improvement, and reporting of FP/RMNCAH, Nutrition, and WASH data.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to promote monitoring and evaluation strategies to facilitate data usage and ownership in a manner that enhances the program and promotes sustainability
  • While working collaboratively with other consortium members, increase local capacity for the identification of data needs and the collection, analysis, and communication of appropriate information.
  • Work to design and review data analysis for all program areas which goes beyond routine quarterly performance tracking to help identify problems and opportunities to improve program performance. 
  • Analyze findings, treatment outcomes, and supportive supervision data to develop recommendations for strengthening program performance.
  • Conduct multi-site analysis of health facility data on key reports required by SMT and stakeholders
  • Compile and create trends for monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports

Job specifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health Information/Computer Science/Information technology from a recognized institution.
  • At least four (4) years of progressive work experience in HIV-related health records and information.
  • Proficiency in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be an added advantage
