Job Summary

The successful candidates will report to the Dean or his/her designee of Chandaria School of Business (CSOB) and will be expected to teach, conduct research and engage in community service aimed at enhancing transformative teaching, learning and research.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

Teaching, Program Reviews, and Assessments, and Supervising Students:

  • Teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Banking, and related courses.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs are contemporary and marketable.
  • Participate in program development, reviews, and assessment to maintain academic standards.
  • Supervise students’ research projects, theses, and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Mentor students and junior faculty in their academic and career endeavors.
  • Develop interdisciplinary courses that address global challenges, particularly in finance and banking.

Research:

  • Engage in research and publication in areas of expertise.
  • Conduct research in relevant fields to further knowledge and understanding in these areas.
  • Secure research grants for projects addressing global challenges in finance and banking.
  • Organize interdisciplinary workshops to foster research collaborations.

Community Service and Outreach:

  • Engage in service to the University, the profession, and to the community.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with organizations to address global challenges and co-create innovations in finance and banking.
  • Actively engage in marketing the university’s programs to elevate its profile and attract potential students and partnerships.
  • Conduct outreach activities that bring together students, faculty, alumni, and external partners for knowledge exchange and professional development.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

Assistant Professor – To qualify for appointment an applicant must have:

  • An earned PhD/DBA in Finance/Accounting/Banking from an accredited and recognized university.
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience.
  • Those with foreign qualifications should provide an equation letter from CUE.
  • A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
  • Professional certifications – CPA/ACCA/CFA.
