Senior Compliance Officer Job CIHEB

Job Summary:

The function of this position is to ensure that Ciheb-Kenya complies with all Ciheb-Kenya, donor, and government rules and regulations. This will be achieved through the establishment and use of best practice project management systems, contributing significantly to ERP internal control design, providing expert advice on donor requirements and regulations, supporting contract negotiation and review, and helping to build staff and business systems capacity to ensure compliance with contractual and donor regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure current internal control systems are in place and are compliant with Donor regulations and Ciheb-Kenya policies.
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify areas of improvement.
  • Conduct quarterly donor compliance spot checks and prepare the quarterly report to be submitted to the Board/CEO. This includes reviewing sample documents from Finance, HR, Programme, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants and communicating findings to the relevant staff/department for corrective action.
  • In collaboration with the Board/CEO, provide technical support or create awareness to all departments/staff about donor compliance issues.
  • Support in the design of Internal Controls and continuous improvement of the finance, procurement, and reporting components of the proposed Ciheb ERP system.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree in accounting or related field and a must requirement for Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Internal Auditor qualifications with a minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in audit, accounting, and ERP implementation.
  • Proven experience working on audits of projects funded by USAID/CDC and other development partners
  • Excellent writing and spoken communication skills in English
  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and giving attention to details is a must: ability to manage/work along with professional people from operation and finance backgrounds
  • High–level skills in MS Office application software
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to the field.
