Kenya Red Cross Society Head of Special Programs Job

Position Summary

Responsible for providing technical and professional leadership as well as strategic direction in the planning, designing, implementation, and evaluation of an effective grants management and accountability system and sustainable Programs that address the needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the design, planning, and implementation of integrated Grants and
  • Quality Assurance systems (GQAs) for the GF programs and other operations aimed at facilitating decision-making processes and promoting accountability.
  • Provide technical support to program implementation to ensure quality in programming and alignment with National policies, guidelines, and strategies.
  • Finalize and submit quarterly financial reports for submission to KCM, KRCS M&E unit & the Board.
  • Act as the liaison between the KRCS Grants unit and the Global Finance technical advisor
  • Supervise and provide technical support to Grant’s staff.
  • Oversee contract management.
  • Coordinate PR Program internal & external audits with Internal Audit Departments.
  • Monitor cash flow management for the entire grant.
  • Led the KRCS team in the preparation and submission of proposals with budgets in liaison with other partners.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic management plans to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Track overall program absorption and adherence to budgets.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • A member of the management team providing technical, advisory, and strategic service to Line Management and Staff whilst ensuring consistency and best practice in overall financial management
  • Supervises the program managers.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Public Health, or any other related field;
  • CPA (K)/ACCA (UK) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in a similar organization with three (3) at managerial level
