KNTC General Manager, Purchasing & Sales Job

Job Purpose

  • Provides overall leadership, strategic management, and day-to-day management of Commercial Operations aimed at enhancing the Corporation’s profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiating the development and implementation of the Corporation’s revenue generation strategy through purchasing;
  • Initiating the development and implementation of the Corporation’s revenue generation strategy through sales;
  • Initiating the development and implementation of the Corporation’s revenue generation strategy through Key accounts management and customer relationship development;
  • Spearheading Development and implementation of strategies for customer relationships and service delivery;
  • Overseeing formulation of strategies for the promotion of wholesale/retail business and e-trade;
  • Responsible directly for the performance of the department to ensure the overall target is achieved;
  • Establishing, improving, and strengthening route to market operations for the formal and informal sectors;
  • Guiding the development and implementation of strategies for government procurement agency services;
  • Steering development of strategies to stabilize and influence consumer commodity prices and supplies;
  • Creating partnerships and linkages to avail relevant products to the market;
  • Initiating development and implementation of strategies for import and export trade;
  • Coaching and mentoring staff in the department
  • Overseeing the preparation of the budget, and annual work plans for the department;
  • Appraising the managers office administrator and officers in the department
  • Guiding development of effective public relations strategies, brand visibility, and Corporate Social Responsibility programs to effectively communicate to stakeholders and the general public.
  • Preparing and presenting the departmental periodic reports.

Recognized qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: – Commerce or Business
  • Administration (Marketing option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, entrepreneurship, or any other related field from a recognized institution ;
  • Have a minimum period of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in a managerial role;
  • Have work experience in commercial, sales, or purchasing operations in a senior role in a large trading or Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment
  • Be a registered member of MSK, CIM, or any other relevant professional body;
  • Have a certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Be proficient in computer applications.
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
