Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing all contractors’ statements for conformity with Contract provisions and bill of quantities.
  • Preparing project final accounts for payment.
  • Verifying quantities and costs on project variation proposals.
  • Coordinating Measurement of quantities
  • Verifying Payments
  • Coordinating costing and valuation of projects.
  • Involved in preparation of project budgets.
  • Ensuring proper documentation for all projects.
  • Preparing periodic technical reports.
  • Preparing tender specifications and tender documentation.

Person specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Building Economics or Civil Engineering; or equivalent
  • Professional registration with Board of Registrations of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS)
  • Registered with Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya as Graduate Member; and
  • Proficiency in computer application
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
