Northcrest Forest Sales & Marketing Manager Job

Northcrest Forest Products Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales & Marketing Manager to drive the company’s expansion efforts in the timber and wood products market in Kenya and across Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading business development initiatives, identifying and engaging potential clients, and creating strategic partnerships to promote the company’s sustainable forestry practices and high-quality timber products.

  • Sales and Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives and market dynamics in the timber and wood products industry.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and target potential customers, including woodworking companies, construction firms, furniture manufacturers, and retail distributors. Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers to drive sales and secure long-term business partnerships.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor strategies. Utilize market insights to refine the company’s product positioning and maximize market penetration.
  • Product Promotion: Develop and execute innovative marketing initiatives to showcase the company’s sustainable forestry practices and highlight the superior quality of its timber products. This may include participation in industry events, trade shows, and other promotional activities.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations with clients to finalize agreements on pricing, delivery terms, and product specifications. Ensure that contracts align with the company’s profitability and sustainability objectives.
  • Partnership Development: Identify potential strategic partners, including timber suppliers, logistics providers, and industry associations, to enhance the company’s supply chain efficiency and market reach.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals. Proactively address any client concerns and act as a trusted advisor to support their wood sourcing needs.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends. Utilize data-driven insights to forecast sales projections and refine sales strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Forestry Management, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the timber, wood products, or related industries.
  • Deep understanding of the timber market dynamics, including knowledge of wood species, sourcing practices, processing techniques, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, negotiate contracts, and build strategic partnerships.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen to develop and execute successful sales and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques to drive informed decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently without compromising attention to detail and quality.
  • Knowledge of sustainable forestry practices and certification standards (e.g., FSC, PEFC) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international timber trade regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in successfully expanding market presence and customer base in Kenya or other African markets is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and market analysis tools.
