Salary Scale: Ksh. 23,200x 1,040- 24,740 x 1,070 – 25,810x 1,090- 26,900 x1,100 – 28,010 x1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 —- 31,450

House Allowance : Kshs. 6,750 p.m.
Commuter Allowance : Kshs. 4,000 p.m.
Leave Allowance : Kshs. 4,000 (Once yearly)
Leave Entitlement : 30 working days per year.

Duties and Responsibilities ;

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer.

Animal Health

Duties and responsibilities at this level will.entail: cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment; preparing media, stains and dyes; collecting, receiving, recording packaging, dispatching, analyzing and preserving test samples and disposing laboratory waste.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • Certificate in any of the following fields; Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology or medical laboratory technology from a recognised institution,

OR

  • Occupational/Proficiency Test Certificate Grade III/II/I in Civil Engineering for Geological Laboratories from a recognised institution; and
  • Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognised institution.
