NCIA Finance/Accounts Officer Job

Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

A Finance/Account Officer will be responsible for; –

  • Compiling information on commitment and expenditure trends and initiating appropriate corrective action as may be required.
  • Compiling of information required on budget monitoring and expenditure control, including expenditures on salaries and allowance, processing of reallocations within the budget.
  • Preparation of vouchers and committal documents in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.
  • Data Capture.
  • Maintenance of primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books registers and preparation of simple management reports including imprest and expenditure returns.
  • Ensuring safe custody of Centre’s records and assets.
  • Payment of personal and merchant claims as guided by cash balances in the cashbooks.

Qualifications

For Appointment in this grade an officer must have; –

  • Relevant working experience of at least three (3) years in a comparable position in a public or private organization.
  • Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its equivalent qualifications.
  • Certificate in Computer applications from recognized applications.
  • Or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
