Strathmore University Community Service Administrator Job

Basic job summary:

The job holder will be responsible for the provision of administrative support to the Community Service Centre and Maintaining productive relations with external stakeholders involved in the University Projects and Programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and organize the Community Outreach Programme;
  • Organize work camps for students and involve and engage students in community service centre activities;
  • Organize service to society activities with SU students.
  • Mobilize the SU students to support the service to society pillar.
  • Help to elect, manage and coordinate training of Community Outreach Program leaders
  • Help in fundraising of the Macheo Plus scholarships
  • Stewardship of donors giving money for scholarships through community service centre
  • Take lead in the work of making podcasts winning Life skills
  • In charge of the departmental website and social media channels
  • Capture and document community service centre activities for SU fraternity and the country at large and assist in report writing for all projects supported by communityservice centre;
  • Conduct regular supervision visits to various community service centre projects andrecord any potential or actual issues for management to address;
  • Coordinate the logistics involved in hosting community service centre volunteers and guests;
  • Monitor traffic and update the community service centre website accordingly paying attention to areas that require improvement;
  • Establish and maintain productive, lasting relations with donors in order to promote awareness of the University and its various community projects;
  • Prepare program budgets and design ways to ensure proper budget management which will account for community service centre funds;
  • Participate and encourage involvement in fundraising for community service centre projects.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time as long as it is within the scope
  • of the job and is aligned to the mission and vision of the University.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  •  A relevant degree in a recognised Institution

Experience:

 3 years’ similar kind of work
